...with their backs against the wall you get a little desperate. Everyone has had to step it up, even Coach Rose has improved his in-game decision making and adjustments. This is more than just one guy. Josh had a couple of nice games after the last loss to Pepperdine but I disagree (respectfully) about offering almost nothing on offense. I think his biggest contribution actually has been his offensive rebounding and giving BYU 2nd chance points. Prior to this, the only consistent offensive rebounder has been Kyle. In one of his big games during this stretch Josh had 5 OR's that really sparked the team. For the season he has more offensive rebounds than defensive, and in this run of games he's stepped that up a notch. 16 of his 29 rebounds during the 6 game winning streak have been on the offensive end.
The biggest difference makers on defense imo has been the improved interior defense of Corbin Kaufusi (and Ryan Andrus) and better perimeter D. Wily shooters like Pangos and Dee didn't find a lot of room to get shots off and in particular Pangos had to make really difficult shots in order to score. But #1 I think it's been Corbin's maturity and discipline on the inside not going airborne as much when opposing players head fake him and waiting for them to release the ball before jumping has been huge. He's averaged 2.5 blocks a game during this stretch and made a huge difference on our D.
