Today, I read where a former player and some fans were upset about him being
dismissed by BYU from the locker room.

At first glance, it is easy to see why some would question such action toward a former player. But then rational kicks in or perhaps jusitification.

We love our children and grandchildren. We love when they come over to visit. However, when they enter our home they all know that our north wing is off limits. This area has seven rooms. Each room is off limits for specific reasons including our master bedroom and bathroom suite.

Like us regarding our children and grandchildren, I am sure BYU has reasons for keeping non-current players outside of the locker room. It could be a liability issue? It might be similar to us in just keeping our privacy? Perhaps it's to protect equipment that might be in the process of being handed out by the staff? I don't know. But I do know, some people feel they have the right to do and go where ever they like. This is obviously wrong behavior.

Being a former athlete, I can certainly understand not wanting people walking through the locker unattended. I can also tell you that I don't feel it's my right to enter the locker I no longer have a purpose in entering.

Let it go...
