Below are all of the stats of each WR group collectively since Bronco has been head coach at BYU.
2005:
141 receptions, 1726 yds, 14 TD's
1 WR over 400+ yds (Watkins)
2006:
132 receptions, 2123 yds, 11 TD's
3 WR's over 400+ yds (Jacobson, Allen, Z. Collie)
2007:
119 receptions, 1765 yds, 14 TD's
2 WR's over 400+ yds (Collie and Reed)
2008:
172 receptions, 2324 yds, 18 TD's (15 by Collie)
2 WR's over 400+ yds (Collie and Reed)
2009:
105 receptions, 1569 yds, 10 TD's
1 WR over 400+ yds (Jacobson)
2010:
121 receptions, 1393 yds, 15 TD's (7 by Hoff and 7 by Ashworth)
2 WR's over 400+ yds (Hoffman and Jacobson)
2011:
154 receptions, 2072 yds, 22 TD's (10 by Hoff and 9 by Apo)
2 WR's over 400+ yds (Hoffman and Apo)
2012:
198 receptions, 2114 yds, 16 TD's (11 by Hoff)
1 WR over 400+ yds (Hoffman)
2013:
172 receptions, 2361 yds, 17 TD's
2 WR's over 400+ yds (Hoffman and Ridley)
2014:
193 receptions, 2634 yds, 23 TD's
3 WR's over 400+ yds (Matthews, Leslie, and Jeurgens)
So our 2014 WR's ranked the following as a group compared to all years since 2005:
2nd in receptions
1st in total yds
1st in TD's
One of only two years with 3 WR's with over 400+ yds in the last 11 years, so it was a more balanced group.
All in all I wouldn't call last year average for our WR's as a group. Overall it was the most impressive WR year statistically over the last 11 years, and that included both Collie's (Jr. 2008) and Hoffman's (Jr. 2012) best years.
