The current gap at backup QB was created by the departures of Ammon Olsen, Billy Green, Alex Kuresa. Would we be better off if at least one of them had stuck around to go into the season as an experienced backup? Probably. But I can see why Anae would focus on building his own stable for the future instead of trying to replace exactly what was already lost.
