My logic might be faulty,
but considering they were a 10 last year and have a better resume this year; I would assume that if they make it to the championship game they could possibly get a 9 seed. I think Tom being on the committee helps. Don't think it results in favoritism, but does prevent negative bias. If they make it to the championship game they will have metrics to support a 9 seed and i think they will get it.
