Kanter trade was much needed
Kanter's biggest weakness was that he didn't/couldn't play defense. He was a big liability on the defensive side. We got rid of him (I don't even care if we didn't get anything in return) and now since the all star break the Jazz are leading the league in defensive stats. And it's not against scrub teams either. In that time the Jazz have beaten playoff teams in Portland, San Antonio, Milwaukee, and now Memphis. Those are some impressive wins. Getting rid of Kanter was a case of addition by subtraction.

Gobert has been allowed to start and develop more. Tonight he had 15 points and 24 rebounds. That dude is a stud! I'm thinking that in 3-5 years he will be one of the best centers in the league and the Jazz will be a top 4 team in the west.
Also, I love seeing how a healthy Rodney Hood can contribute to the team. He is money from beyond the arc. This team is really starting to gel. The two things Dennis Lindsay needs to address: a point guard and some bench depth.
