Swimming with a snorkel at times is helpful
I know you aren't necessarily looking for this advice. But as you start to work on your stroke you will learn and read all kinds of things and it will start to get overwhelming.

For me the one thing that has helped me improve is focusing on keeping my stroke inside my shoulder. So if you picture a line from your shoulder straight back, and a line right down the middle of your body. You want every stroke to be inside that line. And it's a bit hard to work on if you are breathing every stroke. So a snorkel can help you just focus on alignment while swimming straight.

Sorry, that probably made very little sense.
