The Desert Museum is kind of cool. You can drive up to Mount Lemon. I never did that, but I hear you get into alpine country up there. There is a ski resort up there that opens once every few years. The Sonoran desert has the largest range of plant life of any geographical region in the U.S. because of Mount Lemon. There is an Air Force base there that has a museum. Also, the plane bone yard is there. That's where the military stores its planes that are not currently in service. I'm not sure if they give tours of that or not. There's a tourist trap place where they supposedly filmed a bunch of westerns. That might be worth one trip.
