I know this goes without saying, but I thought I would throw out this reminder. BYU can be a shock to the system for some kids. Large classes, tough academics, and so on. Even though many of us as parents want our kids to go to BYU we need to also take a look at our kids individually to make sure they are a good fit and that they are not getting set up for failure. Sometimes we may not know if they can hack it until they get there, but often times I think we know our kids well enough to know if they are going to struggle, even if they have all of the measureables to get in. We should have that honest talk with them and make sure they realize just what kind of an enviornment they would be getting into. Of course, some do fantastic, but there are those that do struggle and should never have gone there.

Sometimes BYU - I, or even a CC, or local college can be the best start.

Again, I am not saying anything most of you probably don't already know. But we need to be reminded from time to time.
