his whole identity has been wrapped around the idea that he will be a college QB. His dad and uncle were NFL quarterbacks for a long time. His grandpa was a career high school coach. I'd say that he a lot closer to the 10,000 hours required to become elite than Hoge who is a 10 times better athlete who played multiple positions in his career. Hoge's upside is very high, but I don't think he's going to tear it up from day 1. It will take him some time in the system and coaching to become a competent starter at BYU.
