He was ALWAYS grossly overrated, and no matter what coaches did they could not put lipstick on that pig and call him a supermodel. I think subsequent events have shown that in spades. So was coaching ideal? No. But Heaps was just bad. He had oodles of opportunity. He had tons of raw "practice" talent. But the fault for his poor performance was with HIM. This was NOT primarily a coaching issue.
I recognize that I am not, have never been, and never will be an NFL-level QB (or even a half-decent college QB) and could not be under any circumstance. Same with Heaps.
