Look at the years that they won the tourney. They finished in the top 2 of the conference all but one of those years and were expected to at least be in the Championship if not win it. Everyone argues that they didn't win when it was in Denver but they were also a 4th place team those 2 years and weren't expected to win it. Plenty of teams have had no problem beating them there during the tourney.
