Me too. I was gone 96-98. My dad had primitive email before I left,
but there was nothing (at least not commonly) like hotmail, etc... No one was talking about the web. It might have existed already in 95 or so, but I had never heard of it. By the time I came home, email was everywhere, ebay was a thing, and about a year later, napster hit.
