This is BYU we're talking about. I don't get the sense that Bronco is the hyper-focused/attention to minute details/total grinder/prepare for every contingency kind of Head Coach that will ever pull off an undefeated season, especially playing a top 30 or so SOS. I think he's good at what he does, he produces a quality 8-5 team, generates a surprise win every now and then but also gets surprised by a team or two along the way.

It might not make some boosters happy (or some fans) but it seems to be enough to keep Holmoe somewhat off his back and keeps the higher ups at BYU and in the Church satisfied. From year to year until he decides to retire I don't see a lot of variance, we'll always finish somewhere between 8-5 and 10-3 with an occasional rebuilding year that might finish at 7 wins.

It's kind of silly to talk "ifs" regarding BYU finishing a season undefeated, especially with the potential SOS we'll have next year.
