RE: BYU is never, ever, EVER going back to the MW.
AS a BYU Cougar Fan since school year 1953-54, and continuous until now and on going, I want to say, remembering back in the day when BYU, Utah and TCU were all the King Pins of the MWÇ, that I am personally very proud of TCU that after struggling 3 years, in the
Big 12, that they rose to a high of #3 in the Nation and finished Nationally Ranked in the top 5.

Also, I am very proud of our once rival, Utah Utes, that after struggling in the Pac 12, for three seasons that they finished Nationally in the top 25.

BYU did not make it to the P5 conference. Yes, we did fall behind our once peer group. But we did not stay mid major either. We did all that was available to us at the time.

We went Independent, and after struggling 3 years as an Independent, we finally got recognized as an Independent P5 team for scheduling purposes. That in itself was a big accomplishment. (As big as Utah accomplishment? ---NO)
As big as TCU accomplishment? ----No) Was it better than staying Mid Major in the MWC? --- Yes. Is there ever a time when we should go back to the MWC or back to any conference that is not a P5 conference? Definitely not. It should never be in any discussion. To go back, is to say that we are no longer capable to becoming once again, equal to what use to be our peer group. (Utah and TCU)

The AD and the HC is on the right course. For the 2016 season, we already have 6 P5 teams scheduled on our program with 3 empty spaces to schedule 3 more P5 teams. I see no FCS team on the schedule and the non P5 teams programed is very, very respectable. Boise State and Cincinnati and I don’t remember whom that 3rd non P5 team is.

This 2016 season gives us the opportunity to program like a P5 team. We program, the same amount of P5 teams that all P5 teams must play.,(9). There are no (give me) games. (No FCS teams). Our SOS is honorable and as good as most P5 teams.

The AD and the HC are to be commended for taking this brave new step that is necessary to achieve that which we must achieve in order to be relevant and they have my 100% support and appreciation for taking this brave step. A 6-6 season, if we are able to accomplish it, with this schedule will be more meaning full than any 10-2 season that we have had in the past 10 years.
