It's not cheating. Most Dads do it. Make sure you are actually helping him and
not just doing everything for him. Your 8 yo may not be ready to operate the table saw, but he can certainly use a hammer and a sanding block and spray paint. Let him do as much as he can on his own. It's more fun for him.
