but if they are then they know very little about college football IMHO. There is a collection of college football fanbases that separate themselves from the rest of the college football world.

Most of these teams are set in locations where college football is king and there is little to no competition with other sports..ie Bama, Nebraska and so on.

BYU has a great fanbase and I would put it on a scale of 7/10 but it is nothing compared to Bama or OSU or Nebraska which is 10/10. I think just the culture of the BYU fanbase itself will never allow it to be top tier. There are fans within BYU that are diehards but I know people local (Alabama) that have second mortgages on their homes just for Bama season tickets and potential NC games.
