I'm pretty sure I've seen each of the three universities I mentioned used as bases for comparison against BYU's spring game in one manner or another. I don't believe I've seen anyone comparing BYU to Penn State, which actually had the third highest spring game attendance. That's why I didn't include a specific reference to their game.
