I don't think they'd like a Church sanctioned activity like this. Scouting troops go shooting all the time. Wonder if there is some dissonance there, or whether it gets ignored because it isn't a "Teacher's Quorum activity," it is a "scouting activity" that the TQ happens to be participating in.

You can always get around any controversy by doing what my home ward always did: declare it a "neighborhood activity" that all of the neighbors in the EQ happen to be attending (and that is announced in Church, etc.).
