BYU has a better shot at playoffs due to SOS. However, BSU is more likely to

consistently be playing in a NY6 game due to their conference affiliation. I don't see BSU being able to realistically make the playoffs even if undefeated due to SOS - unless they went out and scheduled 3-4 ranked teams in the non-conference and there were no more than 3 undefeated or 1-loss teams from P5 conferences.
