People are bringing up his numbers because of how brutally he was portrayed on
this board.
Many accusations that he was only playing because of nepotism. His numbers prove that he was an athlete after all. And they justify that he was playing. He still wasn't a great football player, and only his pure off field numbers are being compared to Weddle. They are actually comparable.
The talk about Povey is a big "I told you so" from the people on the board that claimed he deserved to be on the field when compared to the other options BYU had.
