Often times it was a huge relief to those using it. However, I wasn't in a situation where I was asked to sell it or push it on those who didn't need it. I would offer it on loans that were high LTV and the person wasn't in a great cash position. When those borrowers needed it, had a lower insurance payout than loan total, and could get their whole loan paid off plus get $1,000 toward their replacement it was great.
