of different carpets for dirt cheap. If your not into DYI (some specialized tools needed for this), you can contract an installer that will pick up the carpet and come install it for you. Installation is surprisingly cheap too. I would suggest looking for a place like that instead of going to a flooring store.
We have used this place twice now. One time we recarpeted our current house before moving in. Did 5 bedrooms plus the den, and we got a really nice high-end carpet with a nice pad, and the carpet/pad were like $2100 and the installation was $800. Under $3k to carpet the whole house (well, the main living area kitchen, living room, family room is all tile).
And recently we recarpeted the guest house as well. Its a big studio apartment- around 900 sq ft I think. Everything together was like $800 installed.
