I think Bronco should be doing better, but there are some noticeable trends.
Consider RMs on the roster:

2011- 76 RMs
2006- 62
2001- 60
1996- 56
1991- 41
1986- 39
1981- 21

Draft picks '81-'85= 20. 1 RM. 10 skill players (Db, wr, QB, RB, Kicker)
'86-'90= 18. 2 RMs. 7 skill players
'91-'95= 10. 3 RMs. 3 skill players.
'96-'00= 11. 7 RMs. 1 skill player (Dustin Johnson who was a fullback).
'01-'05= 13. 5 RMs. 3 skill players
'06-'10= 7. 5 RMs. 5 skill players
'11-'15= 2. 0 RMs. 0 skill players.

There are 256 players taken in the draft. If this were to be applied consistently then we lose 7 draft picks from '81-'91 including 2 RMs (Kaufusi #319 and Smith#295) and skill players like Pendleton #304, Sprowls #320 and Koz #305 with Sikahema #254 and Heimuli #249 barely making the cut.

When 1/3 of the NFL draft is defensive backs and wide receivers, but only 3 RM wide receivers and zero RM defensive backs have ever been drafted in the NFL and you INCREASE your RMs by nearly 350%. . . .your draft numbers are going to plummet.

Bronco is still on the hook. We should have better draft numbers with our RMs. But with the current RM culture of the program we can never hope for getting 4 draft picks per year like Lavell did in the early '80s.
