You want to be sure she isn't developing meningitis
Most meningitis in a child that young is viral (usually an enterovirus, so often associated with diarrhea and/or vomiting) and is not dangerous. Bacterial meningitis is a rapid killer and minutes count. If the fever doesn't come down or if the child becomes overtly lethargic or has a stiff neck, it's time for a lumbar puncture in the ER.
