I had a chance to talk to his dad about the recruitment process. It was interesting because he would say things like "Gonzaga is a major conference team that just happens to be in a mid-major conference". It was one of the first things he told me. I think it proves both points in this discussion. On one hand, this dad felt the need to acknowledge the lower quality of the conference during a short discussion. On the other hand, he is absolutely right in regards to their prestige as a basketball conference. In the end, for Zach, it simply came down to style of play.
