My point isn't that they have inferior talent.
Although I do think their talent is inferior to other top ten schools, that is not my point at all.
My point is that, despite being one of the top five programs in the west, they consistently lose recruiting battles to lowly Pac 12 schools and MWC schools. The only explanation for why Gonzaga loses so many head to head recruiting battles with crappy programs is the conference they play in. And, unfortunately, it looks like BYU is stuck in that conference for years to come.
