The reason Lavell had better athletes, reached higher achievements, and had more draftees is BYU had a niche (we threw the ball more than any other school during Lavells era). We were good at our niche and our niche became popular in the NFL thus translating into more of BYU's players being drafted and more recruits wanting to come to BYU to be used in the passing game.

Bronco doesn't have a niche and in some cases he does things that don't translate to the NFL.

I wonder if there is a niche that BYU could find and implement to help get better players and help them get drafted.
