There's a family reunion of somewhat distant relatives in Las Vegas next weekend. BIL and SIL didn't have money until their next disability checks to pay for the hotel, so the in-laws spotted them the reservation (non-refundable of course). Now of course, they still don't have the money to pay for the hotel, and need gas money to get there, so the check's literally in the mail.

Oh yeah, and they have to leave a day early now, so one night of the reservation will go to waste. But the in-laws do it, because otherwise they won't get to see those grandkids.
