My wife and daughter have Ehlers Danlos
it varies in the degree to which it manifests, and my wife has a fairly high degree of the condition.
To be sure, we have had a lot of trials because of it, but in the spectrum of genetic conditions, I don't really consider it to be a condition that is so bad that we should not have any kids.
I do wonder what life will have in store for my daughter, or if any of the other of our 5 kids will present later in life, either in themselves or their progeny, but we didn't really have a great understanding of the condition when we were having them, most of our knowledge comes through going through the difficult aspects that come with the condition, that really didn't get really big until my wife was in her 30's, even if we had the knowledge prior to having them, I doubt it would have stopped us, it doesn't seem to be a disease that has a high probability for decreased life span or quality of life altering affects (although my wife does have that, yay for us.)

And for the record, yes, you are a jerk.
