...the hearts of the defense in the 3rd quarter and they just sort of quit and died. Repeated turnovers (like the Kickoff we fumbled in front of our end zone that Utah recovered) was more than they could take. It seemed like the defense just lost the drive. By midway or so in the 3rd quarter JW4 was running untouched through the defense for long gain after long gain. The defense had bottled him up really well in the first half. It was tough to watch. I'd never seen a Bronco Mendenhall defense look so disheartened like they had quit before that game. So sad.
