RE: I don't see 7-5 being a greater chance than 8-4
Don’t knock Gary Crowton.

Gary was unfairly targeted as the scape goat for the unfortunate deeds of a few in the privacy of their own homes, late at night. No coach can be with each player 24 hours per day. No coach can go into another player’s private home without an invitation.

Until he was targeted, as the scape goat, for the said unfortunate, and embarrassing incident, he brought us to a #5 ranking Nationally.
He had us on the brink of a BCS Bowl. We have not had that kind of exciting football since he left as we had before the incident.

Once the incident happened, he had to focus all of his attention on defending himself instead of getting ready for the next game and our seasons suffered because of it, but not before he gave us a victory over Notre Dame in Provo.

Bronco’s best years with the Cougars was when he was using the recruits from the Crowton era. Bronco’s worst seasons came after all of the Crowton recruits were gone.

When he, Gary Crowton, left us, he was Nationally Ranked as the #1 Assistant Coach in the Nation while at Oregon. He was grabbed by the defending National Champions, LSU, to be their Offensive Coordinator. After that, things did not go as well. I see Gary Crowton as a Victim and not as the Villian that he has been made out to be.

Rose did not get any flack over Davies. Bronco did not get any flack over Harvey Unga. Bronco was not made the scape goat over the Nationally Televised Brawl following the Bowl game vs. Memphis.

Perhaps the powers that be, have improved by no longer making coaches the scape goats over things that they can not control. I hope so. It’s been a long time coming, but I commend them, if indeed the scape goat-ing era is over.
