They pressed them and forced so many bad turnovers. The US literally got nothing up the middle of the pitch, and really hasn't all tournament. The main tactic is to get it to Rapinoe on the left and let her pump crosses in the box, or perhaps make one move them shoot from distance.

Lloyd has been dreadful mostly, so has Heath, and Holiday is meh and really won't be missed next game. And Wambach is basically a lazy player now except in the box. She needs to play like Rooney, but instead really does not get involved in the build up at all and just waits for crosses.

Part of this is tactics, but part is the players aren;t playing that great. certainly without any real creativity. It is very direct soccer.
