This is the problem with US soccer at EVERY level
While the rest of the world is working on control, possession, the speed and aggression, the US focuses on aggression, speed, control, possession. We've always had the edge with superior athletes in women's sports but skill, tactics, and superior training will trump speed and aggression EVERY time.

Its just a matter of time when the US gets left in the dust. BYU women's soccer has the same problem, all their players are cut from the same mold and are interchangeable, they don’t fill positions with specialists. They lack midfield players who should be your ball handlers and control/passing specialists yet they only recruit the fastest, most aggressive players.

I've seen sooooo many youth coaches cut very, very talented players because they weren't "aggressive enough" at u12/u13 age group because the elite clubs play a kick and run style offense. The focus is push push push, ugh.
