RE: BYU loses that game for a simple reason: travel partners
BYU and Utah was a good fit, but only Utah was taken, leaving BYU behind.
BYU and Boise State would be a good fit, and Boise State is high on the ladder for acceptance, but BYU is not.
BYU and Colorado State would be a good fit. (Period)
BYU and Utah State would be a fit, but-------------

Sometimes it is politics and the ability to get along and not be high maintenance that is more important.

When it is us, that do all the praises about how great we are, we leave nothing left for others to say good about us. We said it all.

Sometimes we are perceived as being too arrogant. (But not us, we are too good for that).

Sometimes we are perceived, as an outsider wanting inside, to have too many demands that are unreasonable. (Naw, not us, all of our demands are reasonable).

Sometimes it is perceived that any P5 conference should be grateful to get us because we are such a power house with such a rich history and with our moral code, we are the best of any P5 conference that we would be joining. Lucky them. They should all be willing to meet all of our demands). And this my dear brother’s and sister’s is the attitude that drives, what is perceived as our arrogance, those in the P5 conferences up the wall.

Oh yes, I will be amazed if a few of the most righteous among us will not be calling me a Ute or a troll, or otherwise prove to me how wrong I am, because none of this perception could possibly be true. We are just loved by too many to have any truth in any of this.
