we ended up buying in the North area, just east of the Stone Oak area mentioned several times here. We're in Johnson HS area, but Reagan HS is also very good.

The ward with the temple in its boundaries is actually surprisingly small (about 115 people last Sunday and not too many YM/YW). The area just north of the temple has a much bigger ward. The ward I'm in on the other side of Rte 281 is big too and lots of YM/YW.

The whole north area is very safe, clean and appears to be set for house values to stay steady or improve, not decrease.

The commute into downtown from Stone Oak can be horrible, so that's a consideration depending on where he'll work.
