OP's #4 is spot on and many of us have been saying it the past two years.
Our offense has been the read/run option and let Taysom's natural ability do the rest. He has had to scramble for his life for the past three years. We have no idea how good his passing could be because he's rarely had a 3 second pocket to try to find someone who's gotten separation.
This year will be an improvement, but, not much. The OL is still sub par and he will be hurt before the first half of the season is done. So, we'll have him for 6 games this year instead of 4.
If I were a betting man, that's where I'd put my money. I'd gladly lose the bet and see him healthy all year. But, ain't gonna happen.
