Best places to view animals is in the north and northeast. Make sure to hit Hayden Valley for bison, Tower-Roosevelt is your best chance to see bear, and Lamar Valley is the best all around place to see animals in the park including wolves. Barronet Peak in Lamar Valley usually has mountain goat that you can see with a spotting scope. I agree with the comment regarding getting out and walking around and not spending the whole time in he car, but if you are up for a drive, beartooth pass northeast of the park is magnificent.
