I don't remember hearing that but would've been thrilled to hear it...
...it's been one of my complaints about the way the team has been managed. Too often it seems Bronco coaches not to lose rather than to win. Crowton was widely criticized for his comment that he'd rather win by 9 than by 2 and so you have some contrasts between Bronco and Crowton.

My thinking is it's not a "one-size-fits-all" approach but one that should be managed situationally. There are games where we should look to be conservative, play for field position, etc but as a general rule I think we should get out in front early and then keep our foot on the gas until the final horn sounds instead of what seems to happen where we get a nice lead built by halftime, take our foot off the gas in the 3rd and we hand the game over to the defense to close out.

If we see them continue to push the ball (to use a basketball vernacular) this season in games where it makes sense, it will be a huge improvement for BYU and have a very positive impact on the mindset of the team, instead of them easing back feeling like they've done enough to win they will keep punching right to the final bell. Also, poll voters routinely look at the score each week and make judgements based on RUTS. If BYU were to win by wider margins it would impress more voters and help us in the polls.

I like it!
