What evidence would you provide?

I'm a little disappointed that nobody has done an in-depth comparison between the current programs in the Big 12 and the potential options for expansion - BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, Central Florida, Boise State, Memphis, UConn, etc. I think that BYU fans believe that we would be the best choice based on fan base, program prestige, program stability, academic reputation, attendance, quality of non-football programs, and other factors. However, I'm not sure that the typical college football fan is aware of just how strong our program is.

We need to make the case that we are not on par with the Cincinnati's and Central Florida's of the world. Rather, based on many metrics, we are at least on par with programs like TCU, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, West Virginia, and Baylor. And we have a better program than Texas Tech, Kansas, and Iowa State.

What would you say? What data do you have to back it up?
