buying gear, stop going to games, stop getting some kind of excited for the unknown football season brings and hope for a great outcome. It is really interesting to me to see how people deal with disappointment. Lots of it. It is a trivial hobby so maybe that's why it's so expendable? I just love BYU, the school, the sports, etc. Just like those who are fading in their fandom don't appreciate being called losers or told to get out, those of us(and I only label this way because to me you support it or not and I certainly don't claim to speak for anyone)who remain hopeful and excited are not delusional or blind to the issues surrounding the program. I just choose to not let getting in to a P5 or not ruin college football for me. Clearly we had chances to get in to better leagues but they did not pan out because of decisions out of BYU's control. Our affiliation with the church keeps us out, in more than a couple of ways. I have emailed TH about some concerns and he has been thoughtful in his reponses. I am convinced they are doing all they can working within a very narrow passage, some of that narrowness is created by losing games, the rest is by the church.
For me, it will still eat at me for hours when they lose, it will make my week when they do win and I will come back for more every week of the season and every year for football not because I am such a fan that I don't see the flaws but because I know the flaws and they do not change my support.
