Harding and Gonzales had 58 of Highland's 62 points in that game. That "solid supporting cast" you referred to was nonexistent. Post Falls was not appreciably smaller (Highland had 2 kids at 6'5" and nothing else for size), went 11 deep, and was 20-1 on the year. Their coach has been to the finals twice in the previous 7 years, despite being at a small school for 5A, and his kids play solid D.
Despite playing a respectable foe, who only had to guard 2 players, Harding tallied 27 in the state title game on over 50% shooting. I don't get your analysis of that game.
I also don't disagree re: Shaw. Harding will need to get stronger (he's a jr., plenty of time to hit the weights) and continue working on his shot, which is good, but he'll be challenged more at the D-1 level. He has work to do, of course, but his upside is easy to see. I'm glad he's a Cougar.
