Three-man rush is not a very successful tactic
Nor should it be expected to be. That said, it would be nice if we could get consistent pressure bringing just four. JJ Watt and Bruce Smith are examples of 3-4 DE who could get after the QB. If you don't want to use Hall of Famers as references, then Jan Jorgensen, Vic So'oto, and Ziggy did pretty well for us. Their personal sack numbers don't reflect it (except for Jan in 2007), but they were effective at bringing pressure.
