Not saying it doesn't matter. But P5 membership and a finished practice facility likely would not have changed Jabari Parker's choice nor would it likely change Frank Jackson's.
Parker never had BYU front and center growing up and didn't feel any connection with then BYU players or coaches beyond Mark Pope.
Jackson was BYU's to lose and the dominant issue has been about relationships with all their complexity, as it is always.
But upon FJ's announcement, there will be no mention of such things as there shouldn't be. They will sustain the win-win justification by administering the blame to the WCC, which is the politically correct thing to say. So those who believe it is all about the WCC will be proven correct after all.
BTW, i agree that Rose is doing well in recruiting and sustain his coaching leadership 100%.
But BYU's recruiting base is much broader and deeper than Gonzaga's. The Zags have a great coach which will not last. BYU has a vast and growing cultural base with very few peers that shall endure.
