A couple of things:
First, it's not like the first four opponents were world beaters on offense. Houston was the best of the bunch, averaging 414 yards/gm. After that was Virginia at 374, Texas at 337, and lastly UConn at 276. As a group, they only averaged 350 yards per game all season.


Second, it was early in the season, before teams know what exact weaknesses they can expect and plan to exploit. As the season wore on, more and more teams figured out we had no pass rush.


Third, Taysom wasn't the only player we lost to injury. We lost several D starters, as well.
