I've heard the same argument used against democrats by many members.
Wasn't there even a bishop in LA who tried to get Harry Reid's temple recommend pulled?

I think this issue is going to get more and more thorny over the next few years with the advent of social media. For example, I'm "friends" on Facebook with several people from HS who are no longer LDS and actively write negative things about the church. One of them has gone as far as setting up a group to try and disprove the Book of Mormon. I remember one wrote disparaging things about Elder Packer when he died which is just about as unclassy as you can get. (BYU grad by the way, not a Ute as you would assume). Does that mean I support their agenda? I don't think so. I just ignore their posts/thoughts. For me, I think about what is best for the church. If all active-LDS members just "unfriended" anyone who had contrary thoughts then it would further the argument that Mormons want to bury their heads in the sand rather than face the truth. So I respectfully disagree. I'm not afraid of their stupid arguments.
