BYU was stuck in a bad TV deal making bad $$ playing bad teams
...and when they left the MWC, what were the things they talked about as benefits of being independent? A better TV deal, better money, and more opportunities to schedule better teams.
It wasn't: " Oh no, our rival is leaving us behind" it was "If we want to be competitive in major college football, we can't stay where we are."
