You make some good points
Others I don't agree with.

BYU fans definitely have a hard time saying the best team won when we lose. Part of that is because of the Pride factor, but you also have to realize that BYU tends to shoot themself in the foot A LOT so that frustration fuels a lot of the negativity after games.

Your point about BYU fans talking down on USU is spot on. Even when we are not saying it, we are implying it. I try and correct people when I can. You have to realize though that it's because of a fairly steady history of BYU having little trouble beating USU. Things have changed lately. USU has been more competitive, but you can't expect attitudes to change over night. I think if this continues, USU will get more respect.

As for BYU representing the church and the Nacua punch. What do you expect? Is there any possible system that would completely weed out the possibility of football players getting out of hand during an emotional and angry moment? I'm not saying I liked what happened. It pissed me off. But I also don't get that surprised when the inevitable finally happens. Some bad apples are going to show up from time to time. What is your solution? No church sponsored school? No sports for BYU? A magic ball that reveals which players might snap on national TV? Overall BYU provides a good view of the church. The negative isn't talked about nearly at all outside of Utah. The negative is magnified ten times by LDS Ute and Aggie fans. Take those vocal haters out of the equation and the negative would get far less attention.

I actually like USU and I like how the fan base is most of the time. They do some funny, clever stuff at games. I'm also not in Utah anymore though so I haven't had too many negative experiences. I root for USU whenever they don't play BYU. I can't say the same for Utah because I've had too many negative experiences with them.
