yes, it would have made sense, but once the numbers were crunched, they found that there wasn't any difference.
and i completely disagree that up tempo is not good for byu. it's EXACTLY the type of thing that byu has to do to compete. byu is only going to compete with smoke and mirrors, and up tempo allows you to do that, in really the best way possible. the depth factor is so overblown. it's actually the opposite because you don't have to hide your holes nearly as much because you're not allowing for defensive specialization.
