He had it firm in his mitts, but didn't secure it as if his life were on the line--& the receiver was able to cuff it out from behind. If he had just pulled the ball in it woulda effectively ended the game...which we ended up losing. (You know that one still's gotta haunt Ben a lil.)

That & a very, very weak endzone "pushoff" whistle on Matt Allen in Arizona cost us a perfect season in 2006 (What can you do bout Pac 10 refs though??? Luckily they have gotten better--they were very crooked at that time). The refs had already inexplicably taken a long reception away from Matt after he baited his corner into lunging opposite of where an overhead pass was going.

Matt Allen was a better receiver than many remember, & the Pac refs took away probably his best performance that day.
